Stocks of arabica coffee on the New York Stock Exchange held steady. The drop to a 23-year low has maintained the momentum of spot prices as the floor price is now a point above the wholesale price.

The factory’s current production figures for the market’s No. 1 supplier are still quite vague, with various forecasts. Earlier, Rabobank had given a final forecast of 63.2 million bags, compared with just 50.38 million bags in Conab’s revised September 20 forecast. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) estimates 64.3 million bags in June.

International Coffee News: Artly Brand Barista Robot lands $8 million, plans retail expansion

Robotic barista firm Artly, located in Seattle, has received a $8 million financing round with intentions to increase the number of retail kiosks for these machines.

In 2021, the business, which is run by veteran Amazon Web Services developer Meng Wang, launched its first retail location inside a MUJI shop in Portland, Oregon.

Since then, Artly has established three outlets in malls in the California Bay Area and one in Seattle’s Pike Place Market.

Every shop has a robot that uses deep learning and computer vision to control the robotic arm and check the quality of the coffee being served and prepared.

2020 US Roaster Champion and barista Joe Yang, who first brought the robotic latte arm to Portland in 2020 via firm In J Coffee, later renamed and expanded to become Super Joy Coffee, is in charge of the Artly brand coffee program.

According to GeekWire, SV Tech Ventures, Amino Capital, LDV Partners, Aimtop Ventures, and individual investors spearheaded the investment round, dubbed a “pre-Series A” round.
