This propagation method also allowed farmers to rejuvenate aging coffee plantations more quickly, reducing the time needed for trees to reach maturity and produce stable yields. Over years of testing, TR4 consistently demonstrated its adaptability to the Central Highlands’ hot and humid climate, along with reliable disease resistance and strong yield performance.
As a result, in April 2006, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development officially recognized TR4 as a registered and certified coffee variety under Decision No. 1086/QĐ-BNN-KHCN. Since then, TR4 has become one of the most widely adopted Robusta varieties in Vietnam, trusted by farmers for its balance of quality, resilience, and productivity.

- Tree structure: 2–3 meters tall with dense, slightly drooping branches
- Leaves: lanceolate, 10–15 cm long; young leaves are light green, turning yellow-green with maturity
