Analysts say that the technical indicators are still showing neutral signals, so in the short term, the price is expected to fluctuate between 2200-2360. Meanwhile, the real is strong for arabica coffee and it is currently trading around 1 USD = 5.0970 BRL. This exchange rate is no longer attractive enough for Brazilian farmers to sell. Reports of rain in some parts of Brazil and the forecast of continued rain for the next two weeks have helped ease concerns about dry weather in key Brazil’s coffee-growing regions.
As a result, arabica coffee prices also lost their upside support, falling more than coffee on the London floor. According to technical analysis, the bearish momentum of arabica remains near the area in the short term. Support is at 220-221.
World Coffee News: Heine Brothers becomes the second largest consolidated coffee chain in the US
Last weekend, employees at 17 Heine Brothers Coffee outlets in and around Louisville, Kentucky, cast union support ballots.
After Milwaukee-based Colectivo Coffee, Heine Brothers is now the second-largest consolidated coffee chain in the US.
Although each employee is represented by a specific location, Starbucks boasts the most cohesive workforce in the coffee industry.
In May, a group of Heine Brothers employees announced their intention to organize. Subsequently, some employees claimed that their employers engaged in union-sabotage tactics in order to force the election. The majority last week approved the election.
Gary Heine and Mike Mays established Heine Brothers in 1994, and since then, they have expanded to 18 coffee shops with over 200 staff members. When DCN contacted the corporation for comment, they didn’t answer.
Following a surge of popular unionization efforts in the specialty coffee sector, including at Colectivo, Intelligentsia Coffee, and Peace Coffee, the Heine Brothers election was held.
