The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA)

It is a non-profit organization dedicated to the specialty coffee business. SCA members range from coffee producers to baristas to roasters and encompass every aspect of the coffee value chain. Through leadership in events, education, and research, SCA seeks to inspire and expand the worldwide Specialty Coffee trade.

The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) has been since January 2017 as a result of the merger of two organizations: the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA), founded in 1982, and the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE), formed in 1998.

Activities involving SCA and training

SCA engages in a variety of research, communication, and other activities. Training programs, for example, are one of the essential activities of SCA for developing interest and improving abilities in anybody who follows SCA—pursuing a career in specialty coffee.
